What the bot can see
It reads only what is meant for it: slash commands, messages that mention it, and a message someone chooses with right-click, Apps, Ask Lagani. It does not read the rest of the conversation and keeps none of it.
It asks a server for four permissions: to see channels, send messages, embed links and read message history, which a reply to a mention needs. It asks for nothing to do with moderation, members or roles.
A quiz for the server
/quiz asks a question on NEPSE rules and share arithmetic, answered with buttons. Each question counts once a day, and /quiz top shows the server who knows the market best.
Questions people ask
Is the Lagani Discord bot free?
Yes. Adding it to a server and using the market commands costs nothing, and nobody in the server needs a Lagani account.
Does the bot give buy or sell tips?
No. It reports rule-based readings of past prices and volumes, with each rule shown, and history-based ranges. They are not forecasts or financial advice; the decision is yours.
Can the bot read our server's messages?
Only the ones meant for it: slash commands, messages that mention it, and a message someone right-clicks and sends to it. It keeps none of them.
Why does the bot not answer when I mention it?
It needs permission to see and post in that channel. Ask a server admin to open the add link again, which grants the four permissions it asks for, or check the channel's permissions for the Lagani role.
How do I remove the bot from my server?
In Discord, open Server Settings, then Integrations, choose Lagani and remove it.
Where does the data come from?
From the market's published prices and volumes, read the same way Lagani's web app reads them.
Lagani works these sums out for every trade you make: your real WACC with charges, capital gains tax by holding period, dividends, and your return against the NEPSE index. Import your MeroShare or TMS history in a minute.
The Discord bot answers scrip signals, levels, price ranges and these same sums in your server, for anyone, without an account.
Arithmetic on the figures you enter, at the published rates. Not financial advice; check figures against your broker's bill and the exchange's notices.
