What Lagani is, and what it is not
Lagani is a record-keeping and analysis tool. It is not a broker, a dealer, an investment adviser, a portfolio manager or a licensed financial service of any kind. It does not place orders, hold money or securities, or act for you in any way.
Lagani is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), CDSC, MeroShare or any broker.
Nothing here is a recommendation
Nothing in Lagani is advice or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, and nothing in it is addressed to your personal circumstances. Lagani does not know your financial position, your goals, how much loss you can bear, or what else you own outside it.
Labels such as "Strong Buy", "Buy", "Hold", "Sell" and "Strong Sell" are the names of readings produced by fixed rules. They are not instructions and not opinions about what you should do.
Signals, ideas, screens and track records
Technical signals, market ideas, screener results, price targets, trailing stops, trade levels and track records are all produced automatically by applying fixed rules to past prices and volumes. The same rules are applied to every company. They take no account of news, company announcements, regulation, liquidity, or anything else that has not already shown up in the price.
A track record shows how prices moved after a reading in the past. Past behaviour does not predict future results. A reading that was followed by a rise before may be followed by a fall next time. The rules and their cut-offs have not been proven to work, and a rule that appeared to work in one period can fail in the next.
The assistant applies the same rules to a question you type. Its wording may be put into plainer language by a language model, which does not decide anything and is not allowed to change a figure, but plain language can still read as more certain than the rules are. The rules are the reading, not the wording. The assistant does not know your finances, your goals or your tolerance for loss.
Market data may be late, incomplete or wrong
Prices, indices, volumes, news, company figures, dividend and corporate-action information come from third-party market data that we do not control and cannot verify. They may be delayed, missing, out of date or simply incorrect, and corporate actions such as bonus shares and rights can distort historical prices. Anything worked out from that data, including every signal and alert, carries the same faults. Confirm prices and announcements with your broker or the official source before you act.
Alerts can be late or fail to arrive
Alerts and summaries are checked on a schedule, not continuously, and are delivered through third-party services. An alert may arrive late, arrive more than once, or not arrive at all, and the price may already have moved a long way by the time you read it. A price target or trailing stop in Lagani is only a notification: it does not place or cancel any order. Do not rely on Lagani's alerts to make or to time a trade, and never treat the absence of an alert as a sign that nothing has happened.
Figures are estimates
Your cost, charges, capital gains tax, profit, loss and returns are worked out from the rates configured in Lagani and from the trades you entered. They can differ from what your broker charged and from what you owe in tax. They are not tax or accounting advice.
Investing in shares can lose money
The price of shares can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you put in, and you can lose the whole amount. Shares can be hard to sell at the price you expect, or at all, and trading can be halted. Money you cannot afford to lose should not be invested in shares.
Your decisions and their outcome are yours alone
You alone decide whether, when and what to buy or sell, and you alone bear the result. If you choose to act on a signal, an idea, a screen, an alert, a figure or anything else Lagani shows, you do so entirely at your own risk and on your own judgement.
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Lagani team, its administrators and anyone who helps run Lagani accept no responsibility and no liability for any loss, or any gain you did not make, that results from a decision made using Lagani, from relying on its data, calculations, signals or alerts, or from Lagani being wrong, late or unavailable.
